At Cole Art Studio, located in the heart of Edmonds WA, we encourage and inspire our students in their artistic process, no matter their level or preferred style.

Greet spring in our “Try It!” classes, where you can try something new! Make it a fun Friday night out with your friends or a great date night.  In this class, you’ll follow along with this fabulous instructor to create a beautiful ink and watercolor painting of cherry blossoms – perfect to usher in Spring! You’ll use a straw to blow the ink, then use watercolor and tempura to add splashes of color. A great class for any level, whether you’ve painted before or never touched a brush! Try It!

Painting Captivating Waterscapes in Acrylic or Oil w/ David Marty

Everyone loves beautiful waterscapes, whether still water and reflections, or ocean surf.  There is something about water that mesmerize us and draw us in.  But how to paint water is a challenge for many artists! This is a great place for beginners to start, and for a refresher course for all artists.

Color Theory + Color Mixing

Color! Mysterious, wonderful Color! Having a working knowledge of how colors mix is fundamental to painting in acrylics and oils. Finger Painting Pet Portraits Advanced Workshop w/ Kimberly Adams

“Try It!” is a FUN way to try something new! Just 2 ½-hours on a Friday night, and no supply list: come with a friend or make it a date night – or come by yourself and make some new friends! Great for beginners! This Try It! is all about learning how to create a wonderful painting with Encaustic (hot, melted beeswax) and collage. Tracy will bring everything for you to use for collage. Your finished piece will have wax layered over collage, and collage layered over the wax - a work of art you'll be proud of!

 Join Mike Wise in his beautiful home studio on Whidbey Island, WA for this very special five-day workshop where you will work both outdoors and in studio.  Mike will teach students his wonderful methods and techniques for capturing stunning landscapes outside, then take them into the studio to finish the paintings with the help of photos taken in the field.

Try It! Encaustics: Colorful Palette
w/ Tracy Felix

If you love color and patterns and want to learn how to create it in beautiful wax colors, this is the “Try It!” class for you!  Tracy will show you how to paint with hot, pigmented wax, layering color and creating patterns using stencils, and you’ll finish your encaustic painting with alcohol ink to add even more color and shine! Great for all levels.
