Welcome to our  “Discovery!” series – just for beginners! If you think you can’t draw, if you’ve ever said ‘I can’t even draw a stick figure’, if you are totally convinced no one could ever teach you to draw… this is the class for you!  Joe Mac Kechnie will patiently show you, in a cheerful and non-intimidating environment, how fun and easy drawing can be.  Yes, you CAN draw! Drawing Portraits

If the thought of drawing faces terrifies you… If you want to do a portrait of a relative but you aren’t sure how to begin… We have the 1-day workshop for you! Anyone can draw the face and this workshop is designed to give you the knowledge and strategies to do just that.  This instructor is new to Cole, but she’s been teaching all over the area for years, for other well-known art class locations. We’re happy she wants to teach with us!

Travel Sketching in Ink and Watercolor
w/ Lisa Snow Lady

Capture the essence of your surroundings in this day-long workshop using simple, quick techniques and portable materials!  With an intuitive approach, you’ll learn to sketch with pen, layering watercolor washes, and gathering skills that can be applied to everyday sketching.  You’ll get tips on composition, perspective and simplifying subject matter.  Capture your summer travels, whether in your backyard or across the ocean, in beautiful simple watercolor sketches!

The Drawing Experience Part 1
w/ Joe MacKechnie

5 Wednesdays / Oct 10, 17, 24, 31 and November  7 / 10:30-1:30pm

Fall in love with drawing - THE basis for all your future art endeavors. Even if you think you can’t draw a stick figure, instructor and artist Joe Mac Kechnie will teach you how! You will develop basic drawing skills using an approach that combines left and right brain abilities. Most of all, you will thoroughly enjoy yourself in a fun and non-intimidating environment. Great for beginners and a refresher for all levels.

The Drawing Experience 2 with an Expressive Twist
w/ Joe Mac Kechnie

5 Wednesdays / Oct 10, 17, 24, 31 and November 7 / 2-5pm

A great new take on our classic Drawing Experience Part 2. If you have some basic drawing skills already, whether it’s from Drawing Experience 1 or some other basic class, you are ready for this one! Joe will teach composition and perspective as the backbone of this course. The “twist” is that he’ll be guiding you in expressive and abstractive techniques, to take your drawing level to a fun, creative, exciting place where you learn to express your own voice!
