WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17
Every year, just in time for your summer and fall vacations, we offer this really fun workshop. And every year, it's a sell-out! So we've added a second workshop on a Saturday in September, so you too can sketch the scenery wherever you find yourself in the fall and winter. be it a beach in Hawaii or a neighborhood park! Either way, you'll be equipped with a "studio in your pocket"!
As a sketcher, you will discover the gift of time you never knew you had. Over coffee, waiting for an appointment, or a pause in your daily routine, or as a memorable and fun addition to your travel and journal experiences.
Learn to step away from expectations and explore, observe, and enjoy the experience of drawing. There are no rules here! It may be a few quick lines or more developed color notes. Whether you are an experienced artist or a beginner, sketching is a great teacher, and always leaves you with a unique and valued personal record.
Make sure to wear layers and comfortable shoes as you will be sketching on location in Edmonds, weather permitting. Bring some favorite photos in case the weather is cold and rainy.

Sketching and Watercolor materials:

- Carrying container for pencils, brushes etc., such as a school pencil case
- Kneaded eraser
- Small metal pencil sharpener
- Black or brown ink pen(a fountain pen, if you have one - ArtSpot has a nice one)

There is a wide range available, from $3 to $75 and up. If you already have materials, bring them with you (more info below)
- Watercolor brush or waterbrush (the kind that can hold water in its barrel):
Many of the portable w/c sets come with a small brush. A #6 that comes to a good point is a good overall choice.
