Description:
Learn the beautiful art of Japanese paper marbling, a technique called suminagashi. On the first day, you’ll learn to mix inks, float them on a water bath, create patterns and swirls and even simple imagery, and then transfer the ink to paper or fabric.

On the second day, after our papers are dry, we’ll make saddle-stitch notebooks using colorful Irish linen threads and our handmade marbled sheets for covers. Perfect for your own use, or for giving as a gift to a special friend or loved one.

The $25 supply fee covers all the materials for bookbinding day: paper for the inside pages of our books, additional handmade and decorated papers to decorate books with, bookcloth, bookboard, archival glue, positionable mounting adhesive, Irish linen thread for sewing, wax, glue brushes, and so on.

Come dressed to get inky and messy and have a great time!
