Don’t you just love the look of watercolor paintings? They are so beautiful! Perhaps you’ve thought about giving watercolors a try, but maybe you’re just a little afraid of it? A little nervous or intimidated to be in a class with other students who already know a bunch? Do you have a little voice inside that says, “You could never do this”? Well do we have a great 1-day workshop for you!!
Fear not: our “Discovery!” workshops are for beginners only! And this instructor, Joe Mac Kechnie, is totally wonderful at teaching beginners. He really loves watching those lightbulbs light up as students realize, “Hey! I really CAN do this!” Joe makes every student comfortable and encourages you to let loose and find your inner creativity (YES, you!).
Watercolor is one of the oldest and most revered painting mediums since man first picked up a brush. Used by the ancient Egyptians, mastered by Chinese and Japanese artists, it was later advanced by European and American artists. While watercolor can be challenging to learn, it also seems to have magical qualities not matched by other painting mediums. Give it a try! In this one-day workshop, artist Joe Mac Kechnie will guide you step-by-step to create your very own watercolor painting.
What to expect: A cheerful, encouraging, relaxing environment
What to wear: clothes that can get stained
What to bring: a smile, your lunch, and your watercolor supplies
