Description:
Everyone loves sunsets! There is something about sunsets that mesmerize us and draw us in. They are fun to paint but can often be challenging. David will share his approach to capturing this beautiful subject matter and its brilliant colors.

The first day, David will demonstrate painting a sunset with clouds and water. He will go step-by-step, working on composition, mixing colors and brushwork.
He will then work with you personally and guide you as you create your own sunset painting, first painting a small color study and then developing the concept on a larger canvas. The second day we will follow this process as we work on more of a landscape-oriented sunset.

Photo reference material will be provided but you may bring your own as well.

David will be painting in oils, but students may work in oils or acrylics. Acrylic artists are encouraged to use regarding medium and/or mix in open acrylics to extend drying time.
