Description:
“Try It!” classes are a FUN way to try something new! Just 2 ½-hours on a Friday night, and no supply list:  it adds up to a fun night with a friend or a great date night – or just come by yourself and make some new friends!

Collage is a super-fun way to create a mixed media artwork. Tracy brings in lots of cool papers and other ephemera for you to use! In this 2 ½-hour “Try It!” class, you will experience how wonderful melted beeswax (aka encaustic) is to work with. You’ll leave with a finished encaustic painting that is made with several layers of wax and papers.

In this class, you will first create a collage using acrylic gel medium. Next, learn how to layer pure natural beeswax over it starting with a foundation layer. You will learn how to construct encaustic layers correctly by fusing. Tracy demonstrates each step along the way. This is a great beginner class to learn proper technique for success in all other encaustic techniques!
