Many of you who have taken Kimberly’s finger painting workshops have asked for a weekend specifically for experienced finger-painters. This workshop will be a deeper dive into Kimberly’s finger-painting techniques, to help you get to the next level in your finger painting.

In this advanced 3-day workshop, students can paint a subject of your own choosing! Bring in your own work, whether just starting with a reference photo, or already working on a canvas. You’ll learn how to complete a painting, starting from the beginning concept all the way through to the finished creation. Based on the “atelier” method of teaching, Kimberly will help each student along, showing how to get through whatever obstacles they might encounter, and students help each other and inspire each other throughout the process. Emphasis will also be on how to obtain details with different finger painting techniques.

During the three days, Kimberly will be helping you as you work on your own subject. Focus will be about color placement and adding fine details that can be tricky to add just using fingers to apply the paint. The workshop will be devoted to you completing your own "concept to canvas", with plenty of guidance from Kimberly as she goes from student to student, coaching each one with whatever they are painting.

Students who have taken this Advanced workshop have said that this 3-day format has been so helpful, as they learn how to press on through the obstacles all the way to completion.  These skills build confidence in each student, so they are enabled to go from "concept to canvas" on their own.

Kimberly notes that it typically her three full days to complete a more detailed painting of a larger size, so the longer format enables students to paint a larger canvas or paint a more complex composition. After this workshop you will walk away with the confidence to continue creating your own finger paintings!
