Description:
Discovery workshops are for REAL beginners. Not just any kind of beginners – we’re talking about those of you who are intimidated by the thought of sitting next to non-beginners. Yeah, YOU! Our Discovery classes are super-encouraging, non-intimidating, cheerful and fun. They are taught by hand-picked instructors who just love teaching beginners like yourself, watching lightbulbs turn on in people; instructors who are patient and kind, and know how to teach in an encouraging way. Instructors like… Joe Mac Kechnie. His students love him because he has given them an experience in doing art that maybe you have never experienced: “I CAN do this!!” Wouldn’t that be great? It can happen to you! Come and try it out! Just invest one day, and a short supply list, and experience some new lightbulbs turning on in you!!
Pastel paintings are creamy, soft, vibrant and colorful! Have you done any drawing with charcoal before? Drawing with pastels is a lot like using charcoals: the soft tactile feedback and the ease of use are the same. Pastels introduce a new variable – color!
Maybe you’ve never done any drawing ever – it’s ok! Joe will take you from “I could never” to “Yes, I can!” in one short day. As an award winning pastel artist, known for his systematic and yet free-flowing teaching style, Joe will introduce this medium by teaching you color systems for applying and mixing colors. And then he’ll teach you how to create a piece of art with movement and vibrancy. Here’s your chance – give Pastels a try!
