Learn how to paint sparkling lights against the night, deep shadows contrasting with warm and cool lights. Whether it’s the city or landscape, Angela will show you her tricks to painting night scenes with luminous color that isn’t muddy.
In this schedule-friendly, two- evening format, you’ll be learning Angela’s process from start to finish, and you’ll leave with a painting of your own to hang on your wall or to give as a treasured holiday gift to a special someone.

CHOOSE EITHER ACRYLIC OR OIL PAINT.
Acrylic Paint (best brands include Golden, M. Graham and Liquitex Professional)
OR
Oil Paint (best brands include Williamsburg, Gamblin, and M. Graham)
Oil Paint Mediums
Brushes
Long handled medium stiff brushes are best. I prefer Connoisseur Pure Synthetic Series or Connoisseur Black & White Hog Series long handled brushes. I would recommend at least one large flat or filbert (like a 14 through 8); one small filbert (like a 0 or 2); plus one large round (like an 6).
Optional: For those little flourishes at the end and signing your name, I prefer a brush like the Simply Simmons liner or script brush in a 1 or 2.
Painting Support (canvases)
You can choose to bring canvases or panels. We’ll be working on one painting through the 2-class session, and to finish the painting you’ll want to stay small without working in miniature.
Usually a 9x12- or 11x14-inch size will work. I like to work on a wooden panel or cradled board, but you can use canvas if you would rather have the texture of the fabric. Make sure the surface has been gessoed (most are already done when you buy them, you’ll know it is if it’s white).
