“Painting Believable Landscapes in Oils & Acrylics” w/ David Marty

DATE/TIME: Sat-Sun / July 9-10 / 10:30am-4:30pm

COST: $225

DESCRIPTION:

Do you struggle with making your painting look like something you could walk right into? David will help you develop a better understanding of the basics of oil landscape painting. He will demonstrate step-by-step how to make your painting more believable and give more depth to your painting. He will be sharing simple building blocks of good painting: values, color, edges, contrast, composition and perspective.

The workshop will begin with a short talk and demonstration of how David approaches a painting. Students will spend the remainder of the day painting at their easels with personalized instruction and encouragement. The subject matter will be landscape painting from photographs. Please bring reference material to use during the class.

David will be demonstrating in oils, but students may work in oils or acrylics. Some oil or acrylic painting experience is helpful, however all levels of experience are welcome.
