Description:
Please join us as we welcome internationally acclaimed watercolor artist and author Ron Stocke for an intense three-day watercolor workshop. The focus of these three days will be how to achieve strong light and shadows within your paintings.
Vivid light and shadow have become a calling card of Ron Stocke’s work. Whether it is a dramatic night scene, a downtown cityscape connected in shadows, or an explosive sunset that drenches your painting in color, Ron is always focusing on the light. And as we know, you can’t have light without shadow, and students will learn to give them equal priority in their paintings.
Ron will show his techniques on how to create dynamic shadows that bring harmony to the painting rather than uninteresting dull areas that tend to lay flat. You’ll learn how to capture and connect shapes using shadows, and ultimately how to create strong light as the result of these shadows. Finally, Ron will teach how to express strong light in your brush work, will also be a vital part of this painting workshop.
We are so lucky that we have this fantastic instructor in our area, and that he makes time in his schedule to teach at Cole! Take advantage of this amazing opportunity to learn from one of the nation’s best watercolor artists. Sign up soon – these workshops from Ron fill up quickly!
This workshop will be at ArtWorks - just 3 blocks away from Cole Gallery, with an airy, large space and their own parking lot.
