New Location: ArtWorks in Edmonds - a lovely, large space with plenty of parking places! 200 Dayton St, Edmonds, WA 98020
Description:
Rugged and wild, Northwest landscapes, especially those near the coast, provide ranges of color, texture, and atmosphere for painters. From the Sol Duc river to the hauntingly beautiful Cedar Creek river which leads to the ocean, the mood and mystery of the landscape can be captured through lost edges, a cool palette, and a variety of brush and palette knife work.
Join Mike Wise as he shared the secrets of creating paintings with mood and atmosphere. He will cover color mixing, paint application with brushes, knives and silicone shapers, and more!

IMPORTANT: Make sure your canvases have a good priming - either buy the Source Tek canvas (which are highly pre-primed) or, if you select a different brand, make sure they have an additional coat of gesso for the priming. (Priming allows the paint to adhere to the surface.)
*Note on Mike's choice of Source Tek canvas panels which are available online: These are artist quality linen panels. This superior surface quality is one way that Mike is able to get the results he wants. They are panels, so they have minimal depth of 1/8", which makes them more economical than the thicker panels.)
