Chalk pastels are one of the simplest mediums out there and will delight you with its luscious, vibrant color for any subject. Join Julia Carpenter in this introductory class where you will learn all the many ways to work with this intense, beautiful medium.

 If you’ve ever wanted to add color to your drawings, or perhaps just take the next step from drawing, this class will be perfect for you. Or perhaps you’ve been perplexed about what type of pastels and which colors to get, or what kind of paper – there are so many choices! Julia will demystify all the choices and help you gain the knowledge you need. She will introduce you to the techniques to create gorgeous pastel paintings.

 This class will answer all your questions about the different types of chalk pastels and how to use them. Which colors to use where to create dimension and depth. How to choose the right surface with all the paper choices out there.  Also covered is studio safety and all your choices for the best finish and protection of your pastel artwork.  

 Join us to create masterpieces of mouthwatering fruit, luscious landscapes, color drenched florals, amazingly fluffy animals and birds!
