Are you a beginner at this whole art thing, and don’t know how or where to start? Or maybe you just want to have a fun evening doing something artsy? Or maybe you’ve just never tried pastels and want to give them a test-drive, before making the investment of time and money. Here’s your opportunity!  Our “Try It!” format is for you!

 Our “Try It!” classes are a great way to try something new-to-you – all in just a couple of hours. You can “kick the tires” and see if you like us, like the instructor, and like the medium. You’ll spend an enjoyable evening, maybe even make it a fun time with a friend or a date night, or come on your own and make some new friends! You don’t have to spend your paycheck on a supply list - just $15 straight to the instructor, and you are set!

 In this mini-workshop, experienced artist and beloved instructor Janis Graves will show you how to create a wonderful piece of art of your very own in pastel. Partly drawing, partly painting, pastels don’t really fit in one box (well, except that they do, but you know what we mean). They’re very kinesthetic, since your hand is directly in touch with the medium and the paper. Vibrantly colorful and textural, this pastel-y evening is sure to be a highlight of your month.

 Using the supplies Janis provides, you will follow her guidance step by step to paint a delightful snowy country scene, complete with a quaint red barn tucked into snowy trees. Did you notice how many colors go into making “white” snow? Janis will teach you all about how to accomplish that. Gotta love those fence posts too (yes, you’ll learn a bit about perspective doing those)!

 Remember, in our "Try It!" classes, you don't have to go shopping to purchase any art supplies!  All the supplies are included in the supply fee - just bring your cash to the instructor at the beginning of your fun class!
