If you’ve ever wanted to try this cool thing called “Encaustics” – painting with beeswax – here’s your opportunity! Without making a big commitment of time and art supply purchases, our “Try It!” format is for fun for everyone, whether a beginner or experienced artist! Whitney will show you how to create a wonderful piece of encaustic art of your very own, and in this Friday evening class she will provide all the supplies you need.

 Our “Try It!” classes are a great way to try something new-to-you. You can spend an enjoyable evening, maybe even make it a fun time with a friend or a date night, and try out an art form or a different medium – all in just a couple of hours. You don’t even have to spend a bunch of money on a supply list - just $20 straight to the instructor, and you are set!

 Intrigue the eye with fascinating focal points as you delve into the world of colored resins in this “Try It”. Create an encaustic (wax) painting and embellish areas with a variety of Pebeo colored resins.

Learn how to create fascinating focal points within your painting by embellishing with colorful resin. Through the use of vibrant colors or deeper colors that self-separate into “cells” or pearlescent and metallic resins, you can direct the viewer’s eye to focal points within your work.
