DESCRIPTION:
THIS is the way to try out a new-to-you medium: encaustic – painting with hot pigmented beeswax! This ancient medium is experiencing a major resurgence, and here is your chance to experiment with a smorgasbord of encaustics and all kinds of supplies with Tracy from ARTspot! All your supplies are included in the $15 supply fee. Spend 2 ½ hours learning and having fun!

You will create one 8x10 painting, starting with collage and “mark making" on the board, then adding texture with different materials using stencils. Then.... the wax. Tracy will demo hot tools, and several forms of beeswax. You will leave with a great taste-treat of the mixed media potential of encaustics.
