Beginners & Beyond ~ All Levels welcome!
In this four-week course, Kathleen will guide her students into the world of sketching nature, from close-up views of trees, leaves, and more, encompassing the beauty of late summer and early fall. This class is perfect for beginners or continuing students who want to develop their sketchbook skills and apply vibrancy to their drawings. In this class, Kathleen will take her students outside to observe and sketch the nature that surrounds us. Students will learn simple watercolor techniques and how to work with pen and ink.

Each week, Kathleen will introduce a new topic in the studio and, weather permitting, take students outside to draw and paint in nature. Between sessions, students are encouraged to practice by sketching from observation. Kathleen will also offer tips on incorporating journaling, quotes, or poetry into your sketchbook, transforming it into a personal celebration of autumn.
This class is perfect for beginners as well as students looking to grow their skills. Kathleen works wonderfully with a range of experience levels, providing guidance and challenges tailored to support each student’s artistic journey.

Watercolor sketchbook 5.5 x 8.5 size, Pentalic brand or equivalent

Your favorite pencil for sketching, wood or mechanical

Pigma Micron Pen – 03 tip, or Fountain Pen with Waterproof Ink
Erasers
A kneaded eraser

Windsor Newton Cotman Travel Watercolor Kit

For Outdoor sketching - Kathleen will share tips on stools and travel chairs during class
