If you have a good foundation in watercolor or have taken previous classes with Kim, you're ready to build on your skills and explore more advanced techniques. In this class held live on Zoom, Kim Caldwell will guide you in capturing the beauty of winter landscapes, from snow-covered mountains and hearty evergreens to graceful birch trees and more. Explore how to paint the subtle colors and shadows in snow, create depth and atmosphere in distant mountains, and capture the light and delicate details that bring a winter scene to life.
Kim's fun, encouraging teaching style makes learning both rewarding and enjoyable. Each monthly class introduces something new and exciting, giving intermediate to advanced painters the opportunity to refine their techniques, build confidence, and discover new possibilities in watercolor.

Description: This intermediate to advanced class is designed to help you build your confidence in handling the beautiful medium of watercolor. Kim loves to teach and encourages her students to use the techniques and skills they learn from her, to develop their own style in their paintings. She will teach you how to simplify a complicated scene while maintaining the drama of the light and the beautiful colors in the shadows. You will expand your color palette and mixing skills. You will learn how to use your brushstrokes and color shifts to emphasize the star of your painting. Your lessons will also cover composition, design, and how to create depth in your paintings. Kim creates a safe environment in her classes to paint without fear and the freedom to explore.
Supplies: You can click the link below to go to the Blick U supply list. This list is expanded upon the beginner’s list with additional colors. If you took a previous beginning class with Kim, you will only need to add the new colors to this list.
