Known for her charming paintings filled with birds, animals, and everyday delights, Michelle will share her favorite techniques for creating whimsical, heartwarming art. In this fun and encouraging class, you'll paint lifelike chickadees perched near a birdhouse while learning Michelle's step-by-step approach to building a successful painting.
Working in either acrylics or oils, you'll discover how to create depth, texture, and dimension through layered painting techniques. You'll learn color blending, simple methods for painting flowers, foliage, and sky, and tips for adding personality and character to your birds and birdhouse.
With plenty of demonstrations, tips, and individual guidance will help you feel confident and enjoy the creative process. With demonstrations, individual guidance, and plenty of encouragement, this class is perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike

Brushes
Bring your own assortment with two to three brushes in filbert, round, and flat shapes. Sizes between 2–8 or 1/2 inch and under.

Painting Surface
One 9" × 12" canvas or panel
Painting Tools
Masterson Stay-Wet Palette, either 9" × 12" or 12" × 16"
Palette knife. Sets are available on Amazon or Michael’s. For an upgrade, look for one with a 1¼-inch long blade and pointed tip from Dick Blick Art Materials.
Water container. Yogurt tubs work well.
Spray bottle. Michelle uses the small bottles found in the travel section of local drug stores, where travel-size shampoo and toiletries are sold.
Paper towels or clean rags
