Beginners & Beyond ~ All Levels welcome!

If you are just a beginner, or you’ve already been hooked by Tan’s “Watercolor Made Easy,” let this wonderful instructor show you how to render simple landscapes and still-life themes in  watercolor. Each class will include a demo, with tips on great  composition, good color choices, wise use of materials, and helpful  critiques.  You will see why some images make great paintings and  analyze why some paintings fail.   You will learn how to develop your own unique painting style and make better, simpler, and cleaner watercolors.

Some experience helpful, but not required.

In this five-week class, a natural follow-up to Tan’s “Watercolor Made Easy,” you will gain confidence and develop your skills. You will practice drawing with confidence, learn how simple shapes can create striking compositions, and see how to ‘finish’ a painting.

Tan is great at working with students of different levels and will make sure each student has help and a challenge appropriate to encourage their growth. She will show how to break free from painting small and tight, and develop a more fresh and painterly style.
