Follow your inspiration! In this five-week course, Kathleen will guide you in painting beautiful skies and clouds in acrylic or oil. You will learn about composition, brushwork techniques, and perspective to create vast, dynamic sky paintings. Bring your own reference photos to work from. One of our most in-demand instructors, Kathleen will delight you with her multi-faceted approach to teaching.

In this five-week course, Kathleen will teach students everything they need to know to get started or to further develop their confidence in acrylic painting. Great for beginners & beyond, students will learn a range of subjects from getting the right supplies, to planning and composing their paintings, to mastering the fundamentals of color-mixing. Kathleen will demonstrate basic painting tips and techniques, then lead the students through putting them into supported practice.
Through easy-to-understand concepts and step-by-step methods, including how to paint a variety of subjects, students will learn the process from start to finish. Building on basic, fundamental techniques, novice artists can practice with step-by-step painting projects that are broken down and explained. From the first brushstroke to the finishing touch, let Kathleen guide you as you begin your artistic journey in acrylic painting. Students can work on their own projects with photos they wish to paint from.

*(4) canvas panels or stretched canvases – 8”x10” or 9”x12” is a good size
*(1) 8”x10” Fredrix Canvas Pad – this is a pad of canvas sheets for your weekly assignments. You could use (6) 8x10 canvas panels if you prefer.
*Brushes & Knives
You will need a range of brush shapes and sizes. Use what you have. Use this list as a reference if you need to purchase brushes.
