Pop Art Pet Portraits in Acrylic Full Day Class w/ Shirley Sakatani: May 9 / 11:00-4:00: All Levels
Saturday May 9, 10:30-4:30
Back by popular demand! After the excitement of her Friday night class, Shirley is offering a full-day workshop so students can truly dive into color, design, and creativity—and everyone goes home with a finished painting of their favorite pet.
Ever wanted to paint your furry friend? Join artist Shirley Sakatani for a joyful, pop-art–style pet portrait workshop bursting with color and personality. This full-day class gives you plenty of time to play, experiment, and bring your pet to life in a bold, vibrant way.
Working on a 20 × 20” canvas, Shirley will guide you step by step through her approachable and proven process. She’ll share techniques you can use again and again, from photo preparation and image transfer to composition, color choices, and finishing details. You’ll follow your pet’s portrait from start to finish, with plenty of hands-on instruction along the way.
With a warm, encouraging atmosphere, this class is perfect for all skill levels—from total beginners to experienced artists looking to try something fresh. Come ready to have fun, get a little messy, and leave with a colorful, personality-filled portrait you’ll be proud to take home.
You’ll leave with a ready-to-hang portrait of your beloved pet and the confidence to continue painting in this fun, expressive style.
With contagious enthusiasm, demos, and step-by-step instructions. Shirley will leave students wanting more! Look at our line up for more classes from this in-demand instructor.
After you register, email Shirley a picture of your favorite pet—she’ll get it prepped and ready for you to transfer to your canvas. Note: a close-up photo of the pet’s face is best. If you can, take a photo of your pet in natural daylight, where the lighting is on one side of the face.
