Get ready for the season! Learn a simple way to create beautiful holiday cards and miniature paintings capturing winter cheer. Denise will lead her students step by step to paint a range of subjects from birds in the snow to little landscapes with trees and snow, even snowmen and holiday decorations. You’ll be amazed by how easy these are to paint! Denise has been teaching this class for 18 years, and it is always a favorite. Each student will leave with two to three hand-painted minis ready for printing to give to all your friends. Perfect for beginners to intermediate students.

Description: Do you want to learn how to paint your own holiday cards? Would you like to create priceless treasures to give this Christmas season? Join Denise for her annual winter class exploring the fun of miniature watercolor painting and hand-made cards. The goal will be for each student to create several miniatures, one of which can be copied and made into your own personal seasonal card. You will learn how to paint a range of subjects, from little birds with snow falling, to tiny winter landscapes with trees and mountains and so much more. Denise will share all her tricks and tips for successful watercolor painting. With her step-by-step methods, everyone will have success! Create festive winter scenes and improve your painting skills and - most of all - have fun for yourself and spread the joy with friends and family!
Supply List: You can purchase your quality art supplies at Artspot or Artist and Craftsman. Registered students receive a 10% discount on all their art supplies.
Palette:
Watercolor palette with lid (John Pike is Denise's favorite)
Paper and Support:
You may use cut-up card-sized cold or hot press 140lb watercolor paper such as Arches or Fabriano (bring a board to tape paper on)
Or one pack of watercolor cards
Paints:
A varied assortment of good-quality watercolors
If you wish to buy paints individually, this is Denise’s basic palette. If you have a good quality larger sized travel set with several colors, that will work as well
