Artist and inspirational instructor Shirley Sakatani will help you bring joy into your art as winter turns to spring. In this four-week course, Shirley will guide students in painting large-scale colorful koi and cherry blossoms with lively, fresh style. Great for all levels of students, this course will cover color mixing, value, and composition. Once you've had the satisfying experience of painting koi, built layer upon layer, you can go on to tackle other subjects that interest you. Shirley will be cheerfully at your side every step of the way. Each student will go home with finished paintings to cherish!

The workshop includes step-by-step demos and instruction, laying the groundwork to help each student create a successful painting of koi, expressive and full of movement! .

Small glass jar or plastic container with lid to store mixed paint
Two 10" plates or more of microwave plates from Dollar Store, scrubbable to use as pallettes
Metal kitchen scrub sponges (for plates)
Small Spray Bottle
Little wash cloth to wipe painting or brushes
