Discover the luminous, textural world of encaustic painting in this immersive workshop with Tracy Felix. Using molten wax, students will explore layering, fusing, and expressive mark-making to create rich, contemporary works.
Known for her bold “Renegade” approach, Tracy brings a fresh, experimental style to this versatile medium. This special one-day workshop—her first in six years at Cole Art Studio—is a rare opportunity to learn from a favorite instructor.
Students will create two paintings, beginning with collage and texture-building, then incorporating wax, inks, pigments, and even a shellac burn technique. Tracy will demonstrate each step along the way.
Open to all skill levels. All supplies included—just come ready to create!

This ancient medium is experiencing a resurgence of interest, especially because of its ability to apply to mixed media. This workshop is an opportunity to experiment with not only a smorgasbord of encaustics, but also with all kinds of supplies and tools from ARTspot!
SUPPLY LIST: All your supplies are included in the $50 supply fee. If you have some special papers or ephemera objects you would like to bring, you are welcome to do so. Personalizing your art will make it even more special. However, you are welcome to "come as you are!"
